Ooops....

Holy Moly! It has been almost 6 months since our last update! Where has the time gone! Shane has turned 2, and is almost 2.5. He started nursery school at the same school where Remy is in Pre-K and Bubbie is the director. Shane is THRIVING to say the least in school. He sings the good morning song in three languages thanks to his wonderful teachers. He loves everything about school, and his friends (whom he talks about all the time!)

Remy is growing up so fast. She loves the challenges of Pre-K and considers herself a master at patterns. She is doing great in gymnastics and ballet, and will walk on anything that resembles a balance beam. Her new favorite things are baking, and doing puzzles. She is already looking forward to her 5th birthday! She also loves instruments.... check out the young Ringo Starr!

Happy Birthday Danny!

Happiest of birthdays to Danny! It has been a week of celebrations! We had a great time at the Nationals/Phillies games (yes, Danny went to all three), and a busy weekend celebrating Danny's 35th as well as Mothers Day!

And finally, cuteness from Shane! Happy Birthday Daddy!

Remy turns 4!!!

Tomorrow Remy turns 4. I make fun of my mom every year when she reminisces about the day I was born. So of course Danny and I sit here watching youtube movies of our children, and thinking about how our lives changed so much 4 years ago. We had no idea what was ahead of us. Not even the whole drama of Remy's delivery, but how much our lives would change as parents. We have loved every minute of it!

If you are pregnant in Italy, you get special seating in Venice. Dear lord I hope my arms didn't look like that!!
(Pregnant in Italy with the Lincows December 2007)

Our tiny medical miracle. Our first pictures right before Remy spent 72 hours on the cooling blanket.

She drooled and spit up for the first 9 months of her life. The bib was a staple in her wardrobe!

The puppy probably found some leftover cookies in her shirt!!

Loving her new little brother!

First day of preschool!

Congrats Danny!

Most of the posts on this blog are child related, but this one is different. Danny has had a big month! He ran his first 5k in record time and was promoted at work. Danny is the new Director of Major Accounts at Capitol Office Solutions. He is very excited about his new opportunity and we are really proud of his hard work.

To celebrate his promotion, and his strong genetics, I show you the proof that Remy looks nothing like Mommy!! Congrats on your promotion and your daughter having your face!

What a way to end the year!!!

What a wild few months it has been!! We celebrated Thanksgiving in Lancaster PA with Bubbie and Papa, Zayda and Grandma, and Uncle Ellis and Sam. We had a lovely visit with Aunt Angie, and our great friends Marcel and Galit, Remy tried her luck at ice skating and danced in her first recital, and Lisa ran the Hot Chocolate 5k!

We started off the month of December with many birthday celebrations. What is 9 months before December, because a lot of our friends were obviously gettin busy!! We were excited to celebrate birthdays with 7 of our close friends! December also brought 2 new babies into our lives! Mazel Mazel to Diana and Aaron and Sharon and Noah on your tax exemptions!!! We love you and those squishy babies very much!!

(Shane found this while shopping for the birthday presents)

We finished the month by visiting the Zoolights and the Seneca Creek State Park light displays, and celebrating Hanukkah with our family and friends. It is wonderful to see the excitement from Remy and Shane as we lit the candles! Although Shane tried to blow them out every night, we cherish the traditions that we are instilling in our kids.

(Hanukkah on the Christmas tablecloth!)

(The ladies enjoy their Hanukkah brownie sundaes!)

Last, and certainly not least, Shane celebrated his 18 month birthday!! Shane has turned into a running, climbing, and babbling toddler! This morning he told Coco to get in the crate, and asked for a waffle with milk. He gained 5lbs since his 12 month checkup and is eating everything in sight (except for veggies). He loves to give hugs and kisses. We love his laugh and smile, but the child has a temper and isn't afraid to let you know when he is MAD! He is not so great with sharing, but loves to be silly with Remy.

(Shane and Zayda share a moment)

Finally, it was a crazy year in our house! But we are so thankful for our family, friends, careers, health, and each other! Time seems to be flying by, so we are happy to take this time of the year to remember all of the great times we had, and learn and grow from the difficult ones. We wish you all a happy and healthy new year and all of the best in 2012.

A new cousin!!

Remy and Shane were so excited to welcome a new cousin to the world! Congrats to Sharon and Noah Bank on the addition of little Olivia. We can't wait to get up to NY and meet her! Congrats to Aunt Susan, Allison, Jeff, Hailey, and Sydney on your newest toy, and on not having to do a bris!!! =)

Happy Birthday Zayda!

The whole family helped Zayda (Frank Cooperstein) celebrate his 65th birthday. We all remarked that his heart surgery was a success as he blew out all the candles in one breath (there were only 6.5 candles!).

And the Academy Award goes to.....

...SHANE COOPERSTEIN! He has been able to say MAMA all along. After the past week where we added the words "Pizza" and "Costco" to his vocabulary, I was starting to get frustrated. I would like to thank Uncle Steve and Aunt Cheryl for bribing him with a great day at Butler's (where he said Donkey) and a yummy lunch at Uno's! Thanks also to Cousin Randi for reassuring me that he is not broken (at least in terms of speech).

I know what you are all thinking... where are the "How tall this Fall" pictures of Shane?! Second child syndrome... we will make it up to him later!

Another Day, another medical claim!

It is my job at MCPS to keep the staff healthy and, over the long term, lower health care costs! The Cooperstein family is not doing their part to help the county!!! Today, Remy tripped and fell at school into the train table!! Another crazy accident from our home! Maybe it truly is time to wrap the children in bubble wrap!

Here are some pictures from our adventure at the ER.

After what the doctor labeled a serious laceration, and having 2 nurses hold her down, Remy left with 10+ stitches. The little trooper did great, and was rewarded with not 1, but 2 hospital popsicles. Our little Van Gogh is doing great, and will NOT be getting her ears pierced any time soon!!! Thanks to Jenn and Julie from RNSNK for taking such good care of her!!

Labor Day. The Irony!

On this Labor Day, I think its appropriate to talk about the fact that although I didn't have a labor with Shane (C-section), that it is still labor to carry a child for 40 weeks, and be pregnant. With that said.... for all my labor, it is about time that Shane say "MAMA!!!!"

Here are some words that Shane says:

More
Please
Dog
Dada
Key
Up
Hot
Hat
One
Two
Three
Dance
Eat
Uh Oh
(And my favorite...) TV
